Winnice.
Alkohol jest istotnym parametrem dla win butelkowanych. Podanie błędnych wartości może skutkować nałożeniem dotkliwych kar na jego producentów. Z tego powodu analiza wina musi być wykonywana zgodnie z obowiązującymi normami analitycznymi.

Znając gęstość soku winogronowego (ogólnie nazywanego moszczem) możemy oznaczyć ilość cukru zawartego w tym soku przed fermentacją. To pozwala nam określić spodziewaną zawartość alkoholu w winach. Dlatego też jest bardzo ważne, aby dokładnie mierzyć gęstość soku.
